The Philatelic Office of the Vatican commemorates the 25th anniversary of the death of Fr. Giuseppe Diana with a miniature sheet designed by Marco Ventura. Fr. Diana was born in Casal di Principe, Italy, on 4 July 1958. Ordained in 1989, he became parish priest of San Nicola di Bari in his home city. With great effort he immediately began work to create a reception center for the first African immigrants arriving there, in this way preventing them from becoming laborers for organized crime. As part of an effort to end the dominion of the Camorra in the region, he wrote a documented entitled: “For the love of my people, I will not stay silent”.The words and actions of the priest then became the target of the Camorra clans, who could not accept being shamed. Thus, on the morning of 19 March 1994, while preparing to celebrate Mass in his church in Casal di Principe, two assassins mercilessly killed him.
